These ticks have caused major nationwide concern that public health officials and ecologists have gotten involved. Collected data reveals that there have been more frequent visits for tick bites, running at roughly 71 per 100,000 people per week. This figure is over double the typical rate of 30 per 100,000 usually seen, marking the highest levels reported since 2017.
